Brian Witus

Brian Witus is a partner at Saretsky Hart Michaels + Gould, P.C., working from the firm’s Birmingham, Michigan office. He represents businesses and individuals in complex litigation involving commercial contracts, securities, employment, franchises, and other business disputes. His practice also encompasses restrictive covenants, trade secrets, fraud, and tortious interference, helping clients address business conflicts that may require negotiated resolutions, arbitration, or courtroom advocacy.

Brian earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1991 and a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan in 1987. His legal education provides a foundation for interpreting contracts, developing litigation strategies, and addressing regulatory issues. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and Illinois, an important part of a practice that crosses state and federal court boundaries.

He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of securities, employment, franchise, and other business cases. His experience includes securities arbitrations, regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, civil and criminal jury trials, and litigation involving errors and omissions policies and fidelity bonds. He has argued matters before the Michigan Supreme Court, Michigan Court of Appeals, and United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and has represented clients in significant business disputes.

Brian Witus also contributes to legal education through papers, panel discussions, and seminars on securities, franchise, and employment law. He has served as a council member and treasurer of the Antitrust, Franchising and Trade Regulation Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
