Brian P. Kerwin

Brian P. Kerwin is a highly accomplished attorney and a leader in corporate law. He is Chairman of Duane Morris LLP’s Corporate Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and governing Partners Board. Brian oversees a team of over 200 attorneys in 16 offices, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and business transactions.

Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan, majoring in history. He graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review. Additionally, he holds a Master Of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.

Throughout his career, Brian has represented clients in more than 750 financing transactions and over 175 mergers and acquisitions. He has worked with national private equity funds, lenders, and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries. His experience spans manufacturing, healthcare, fintech, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and technology. Brian is known for his efficiency, responsiveness, and ability to navigate complex transactions.

Brian has advised leading financial institutions, including CIBC Bank USA, Fifth Third Bank, and Wintrust Financial. He helps companies navigate complex M&A transactions, equity investments, fund formations, and large-scale financing deals. His experience includes representing American Gaming Systems in its $200+ million sale to Apollo Global Management and securing a $750 million financing transaction for Edward Jones.

Brian’s legal skills have earned him recognition in numerous publications. He has been included in Super Lawyers for 15 years and Best Lawyers in America for over a decade. He was also named to Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Dealmakers in America.”
