Brian M. Bentrup

Brian M. Bentrup is a skilled attorney who focuses his practice on estate planning, guardianships, probate and trust administration, and commercial real estate. Brian graduated from Loyola University Chicago. There, he triple-majored in Economics, Political Science, and Psychology. He later received his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, formerly The John Marshall Law School. His broad educational experience supports his ability to analyze financial issues, understand family dynamics, and apply the law with clarity.

Brian has helped many clients create or update their estate plans, prepare wills and trusts, and settle the estates of loved ones, since joining MacDonald, Lee & Senechalle, Ltd. in 2018. He assists families facing difficult situations, including probate matters and guardianships for minors or adults with cognitive decline. His guidance helps clients make informed decisions during stressful times and ensures legal responsibilities are handled correctly. In addition to his estate planning work, Brian represents commercial property owners who need leases negotiated or drafted, or who are buying or selling real estate.

Brian M. Bentrup is active in the legal community and has contributed to the field through writing and professional leadership. He served on the Executive Committee of the Chicago Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, co-edited the @theBar Blog, and chaired the County Attorney Wellness Committee in DuPage. He has published articles and co-authored a chapter for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education on asset protection trusts.
