Brian Hurst is an experienced trial attorney who has served clients throughout Illinois for more than three decades. As a civil litigator, he represents injured individuals and families affected by wrongful death. His practice focuses on medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and complex personal injury matters, earning him recognition for legal excellence and advocacy.
Brian earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Eastern Illinois University in 1992. He later received his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1995. His strong academic background provided the foundation for a successful career handling challenging and high-stakes litigation matters.
Brian has extensive jury trial experience in medical malpractice cases across Illinois and other states. He has represented clients in courts throughout Cook, DuPage, Kankakee, Sangamon, and Will Counties, as well as in New Jersey and Georgia. His work has resulted in numerous multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts for injured individuals and their families.
Brian has received significant professional recognition throughout his career. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has consistently been named a “Top Illinois Lawyer” by Super Lawyers. His notable results include medical malpractice verdicts of $8.7 million, $7 million, and $5 million, including a record-setting Illinois verdict involving a delayed breast cancer diagnosis.
Brian is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. He has also served on the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee and the Eastern Illinois University College of Sciences Advisory Board, demonstrating his commitment to the legal profession and broader community.
Brian Hurst is admitted to practice in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
