Brian Foley

Brian Foley is a well-known criminal defense and DWI lawyer recognized for handling complex cases with precision and determination. As a former Chief Prosecutor and Board Certified Criminal Defense Attorney, he uses deep legal knowledge to defend people facing criminal charges and protect their constitutional rights during difficult times.

Brian completed his academic path beginning at Texas A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then earned his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law. His studies also included the Oxford University St. Edmunds Hall Florida State Summer Law Program, followed by an internship at The White House, broadening his legal insight.

Brian draws on years of criminal law experience gained while serving in major prosecutorial roles. His background includes handling a large share of cases in Harris County, one of the nation’s busiest jurisdictions. This experience strengthens his ability to analyze evidence, anticipate prosecutorial approaches, and build strong defense strategies for clients in Galveston and surrounding areas.

Brian has extensive experience in intoxication-related charges, including serious DWI cases involving injury or fatality. His work with the Montgomery County Vehicular Crimes Team provided advanced training in intoxication assault and manslaughter, allowing him to handle these cases with skill. His training includes Advanced Trial Advocacy, Train the Trainer, and serving as Prosecution Faculty Advisor.

Brian also has strong experience with assault and family violence cases. His time in the Montgomery County Domestic Violence Unit involved managing thousands of misdemeanor and felony assault matters. His advanced training in strangulation felony assault cases allows him to defend clients facing serious accusations and guide them through protective order issues.
