Brian Bear

Brian Bear is a litigator and trial attorney who represents both private and public entities in complex legal disputes. His work focuses on complex litigation, public finance, and intellectual property matters. Brian earned a B.A. from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2005. He later received a J.D. from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law in 2009, Magna Cum Laude, Order of the Coif. This academic foundation helped him build strong analytical and advocacy skills for legal practice.

Brian began his legal career with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where he handled major consumer protection and complex litigation matters. His work included involvement in the National Mortgage Settlement. He also led major prosecutions, including a significant identity-theft case and a large municipal-bond fraud matter.

Brian later served as general counsel for the Missouri Department of Economic Development. In this role, he provided key legal advice on state business incentives and tax credit programs valued at hundreds of millions of dollars annually. His work also included guidance on large-scale development and government coordination efforts.

Brian uses his government experience to assist clients facing regulatory and economic development challenges. He advises both public and private entities on navigating federal, state, and local requirements. His approach focuses on offering practical solutions while helping clients move forward with confidence in complex legal environments.

Brian also handles intellectual property litigation, including patent disputes. He has experience trying cases before the International Trade Commission, the Patent and Trademark Appeal Board, and the Eastern District of Texas. His courtroom experience allows him to manage high-stakes matters with careful strategy and clear advocacy.
