Brett Budlong

Brett Budlong is a partner at Graybill, Lansche & Vinzani, LLC, in Charleston. He focuses on commercial real estate development and financing. Brett helps clients like developers, investors, lenders, buyers, and sellers with financing, land use, planned unit developments (PUDs), construction, real estate title insurance, easements, and structuring loans, including CMBS transactions.

Brett has a strong leasing practice, working with national and regional developers on office, retail, and mixed-use properties. He also helps tenants negotiate leases using his experience representing landlords. Brett serves as local counsel in Georgia and South Carolina, providing legal opinions and guidance for lenders, borrowers, and sellers from out of state.

He supports private equity clients with joint venture agreements and asset management arrangements. Brett holds the LEED Green Associate designation, reflecting his commitment to sustainability.

Brett graduated cum laude from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with a B.B.A. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a Dean’s List honoree, a contributor to the Southeastern Environmental Law Journal, and a recipient of the James L. Petigru Public Interest Grant.

Before joining Graybill, Lansche & Vinzani, LLC, Brett worked at a large international law firm in the Real Estate and Structured & Real Estate Finance group. He now uses that experience to advise his clients on complex transactions.

Brett is admitted to practice law in South Carolina, Georgia, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He speaks at professional seminars, sharing insights on real estate law. Brett’s commercial real estate development, leasing, and financing expertise makes him a trusted legal advisor.
