Brent Caldwell

Brent Caldwell is a criminal defense lawyer and of counsel at Noel Caldwell, Attorney at Law PLLC, who represents clients in state and federal cases and pursues civil rights claims involving government misconduct. He has practiced in Kentucky for more than 40 years. His work includes cases involving law enforcement abuse, jail misconduct, serious criminal charges, and complex civil litigation. His extensive courtroom background includes jury trials and appellate arguments in state and federal courts.

Brent earned his J.D. from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. He received his B.A. in political science nd English from Georgetown College. His legal education prepared him for a career involving prosecution, criminal defense, government service, civil litigation, and appellate advocacy. That foundation supports his work on cases involving constitutional rights, criminal charges, government conduct, and complex factual disputes.

Brent began his career as a prosecutor with the Jefferson County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. He later served as a public defender and Caldwell County Attorney. He became Kentucky’s Chief Deputy Attorney General and served under two attorneys general. His career later included partnership at a Lexington law firm, where he handled complex civil litigation and defended state and federal criminal cases.

Brent Caldwell focuses on federal civil rights claims and state and federal criminal defense. He has argued before the Kentucky Supreme Court and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He has tried numerous civil and criminal jury cases throughout his career.
