Brent C. Featherston

Brent C. Featherston is a Sandpoint civil litigation lawyer who handles lawsuits and disputes. His practice concentrates on real estate litigation, personal injury, appellate matters, and legal concerns affecting small businesses. He represents clients in Idaho and Washington courts while developing strategies suited to each matter and dispute.

Brent earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Walla Walla University in 1988. His undergraduate studies included General Studies Honors and a minor in Business. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law in 1992. His academic background strengthened his research, writing, business analysis, and advocacy skills. He entered Idaho State and Federal practice in 1992 and Washington State and Federal practice in 1993.

Brent focuses much of his litigation work on disputes involving real estate rights, obligations, and transactions. He has also represented clients in personal injury claims, appeals, and small business matters. His appellate experience includes successful decisions before the Idaho Supreme Court and Idaho Court of Appeals. He previously served as a contract public defender for Bonner and Boundary counties. His admissions include the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where he was admitted in 2004.

Brent C. Featherston has served as a continuing legal education presenter and held leadership positions with the First District Bar Association. His professional involvement also includes membership in the Idaho Legal History Society. He brings more than 30 years of legal experience to matters requiring detailed preparation, practical judgment, and courtroom advocacy.
