Bethel Kassa

Bethel Kassa is an attorney in Morgan & Morgan’s Washington, DC office and a member of the firm’s Mass Tort Law & Briefing Group. She prepares motions, briefs, and appellate briefs for class action and multidistrict litigation teams. Her current work draws on an international law background and experience with complex commercial disputes, giving her a broad perspective on legal research, written advocacy, procedural strategy, and large-scale litigation.

Kassa earned an LLM in International Law from The George Washington University Law School in 2016. Her education also includes Addis Ababa University Law School, where she built an academic foundation in law before continuing advanced study in the United States. This training supports her ability to analyze cross-border legal issues, complex records, and procedural questions that can arise in litigation involving numerous parties and jurisdictions.

Before joining Morgan & Morgan, Kassa represented foreign states and companies in international arbitrations and commercial litigation. Her work included multimillion-dollar matters involving enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, contract disputes, and fraud and RICO claims. That experience developed skills in written advocacy, jurisdictional analysis, and cross-border enforcement that she now applies to mass tort, class action, and product liability matters.

Bethel Kassa is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and New York and is also admitted in several federal courts, including the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and District of Columbia Circuits. Her practice combines international litigation experience with current mass tort briefing work, helping legal teams address complicated legal questions, organize persuasive arguments, and support cases that involve extensive records and coordinated proceedings.
