Bethany Rubis

Bethany Rubis is a dedicated attorney at Messick Law, where she serves clients across a range of practice areas, including trust and estate litigation, civil litigation, business litigation, and probate and estate planning. Known for her zealous advocacy, Bethany works diligently to craft personalized and innovative legal solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Bethany began her legal journey at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. She consistently demonstrated academic excellence during her time there, making the Dean’s List and earning the prestigious CALI Awards of Excellence in Products Liability and Criminal Procedure. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict, where she was also recognized for academic distinction.

Before joining Messick Law, Bethany represented trustees and debtors-in-possession, specializing in bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, including avoidance actions. Her previous experience also includes employment and business litigation, further broadening her expertise in complex legal matters.

During her legal education, Bethany gained valuable experience clerking for family law and criminal defense firms while volunteering with the Minnesota Justice Foundation and the Cordoza Society.

Bethany is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. She remains deeply engaged in the legal community as a member of professional organizations such as the Minnesota Bar Association and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). Her commitment to pro bono work is evident through her participation in programs like Wills for Heroes, where she provides essential legal services to first responders.
