Beth L. Umina earned her J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law, where she concentrated in Energy and Sustainable Development Law. During law school, she served as a Teacher’s Assistant for Legal Research and Writing, a Dean’s Fellow in Constitutional Law, and a Research Assistant to the Director of the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development Law. She also earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from West Virginia University, where she received multiple academic honors for strong scholastic achievement.
Before joining private practice, Umina served as in-house counsel for a demolition, construction, and hazard remediation company in West Virginia. In that role, she gained experience in real estate law, labor and employment matters, administrative law, environmental law, trademark law, insurance law, immigration law, workers’ compensation, arbitration, union relations, and construction litigation. This diverse legal background strengthened her ability to handle complicated disputes and provide informed guidance to both businesses and individuals in a wide range of legal matters.
Beth L. Umina is admitted to practice in West Virginia and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia. In addition to her legal practice, she serves as Monongalia County Fiduciary Commissioner, reflecting her commitment to fairness, integrity, and public service.
