About
Beth Bolen Chun is Special Counsel at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP in Washington, DC. She helps companies respond to State Attorney General investigations and advises on consumer protection compliance. Her practice covers marketing and advertising, privacy and data security, automatic renewal programs, fees, and other consumer-facing issues. She works with clients across financial services, health care, media, real estate, retail, software, and technology sectors.
Chun earned a J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2012, where she worked on the Texas International Law Journal, and a B.A. from Rice University in 2009 with studies in History and Managerial Studies. Her legal education supports work that combines statutory analysis, investigations, negotiation, litigation strategy, and practical compliance advice for businesses facing state and federal consumer-protection obligations.
Before joining Kelley Drye, Chun spent almost a decade in the Consumer Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s office. She investigated and prosecuted violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other state and federal consumer protection laws, led multistate investigations, negotiated on behalf of participating states, reviewed class actions through the states’ CAFA working group, and supervised the division’s intake and complaint team.
Beth Bolen Chun now uses that enforcement background to help clients respond to complaints, inquiries, Civil Investigative Demands, subpoenas, and complex multistate matters. Her prior cases included investigations involving technology support services, wireless cramming, and national companies. By combining former regulator experience with private-practice counseling, she helps businesses identify enforcement risk, organize responses, and develop compliance approaches that reduce disruption while addressing consumer-protection concerns.
