Ben Heston

Ben Heston is a Certified Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist with deep experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings across Riverside, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. He is one of only two attorneys in the region with this certification, demonstrating his expertise in handling complex and contested bankruptcy cases with integrity and precision.

Ben earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in 2013, where he served as President of the Animal Law Society and participated in public interest legal programs. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. Ben was admitted to the California State Bar in 2014 and is also admitted to practice in all federal districts of California.

Since beginning his legal career, Ben has focused almost exclusively on bankruptcy law. His practice includes filing and managing Chapter 7 and 13 cases, as well as handling adversary proceedings, student loan discharge issues, trustee disputes, and bankruptcy appeals. He is also a licensed real estate broker, which adds a valuable dimension to his legal approach.

Ben is active in the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum, Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He has lectured on bankruptcy topics for several professional groups and was elected Vice President of the Riverside County Barristers Association early in his career. In 2022, he founded Nexus Bankruptcy with a mission to provide ethical, practical legal help rooted in personal values and client advocacy.

Committed to public service, Ben Heston regularly volunteers with the Public Law Center and other organizations to expand access to bankruptcy relief for underserved communities throughout California.
