About
Barbara Kibbey is a Stuart, Florida personal injury lawyer and partner who represents people harmed in serious accidents and families pursuing wrongful death claims. Her practice includes car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian accidents, along with brain injuries and catastrophic injury cases. She represents defendants in state and federal criminal matters as well. Her work draws on substantial courtroom experience and focuses on preparing cases involving significant injuries, criminal allegations, and complex factual disputes.
Kibbey earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and her B.S. from the University of Florida. During law school, she interned for U.S. Judge Shelby Highsmith and attorney Roy Black. She later served as director of the Moot Court Board and competed in national advocacy competitions. Her legal education and courtroom training provided a strong foundation in litigation, case preparation, oral advocacy, and evidence analysis.
Kibbey began her career as a public defender in Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit, where she handled first-degree felonies, juvenile offenses, and misdemeanor cases. She received the Best Advocate title for her litigation skills during that work. Her private practice now centers largely on personal injury claims involving vehicle collisions, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death. Her criminal defense background provides additional experience with investigations, trial strategy, witness examination, and high-stakes courtroom proceedings.
Barbara Kibbey has been listed among Florida’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers and among the state’s Top 40 Lawyers Under 40.
