Austin A. Eggl

Austin A. Eggl is a business lawyer in Fredrikson & Byron, P.A.’s Fargo office and works with the firm’s Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Workouts groups. He advises businesses and investors on corporate structuring, financing strategies, long-term planning, and mergers and acquisitions from early deal stages through closing. His practice also includes financial-distress matters, where he helps businesses consider bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructuring options.

Eggl earned a J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2023. During law school, he served as Managing Editor of the North Dakota Law Review and contributed to the journal as a student author. His academic work provided experience with legal research, editing, and business-law analysis. Before law school, he attended Presentation College and earned a B.S. He was admitted to practice in North Dakota in 2023, supporting his current transactional and restructuring work.

Before joining Fredrikson, Eggl served for two years as a term law clerk to the Honorable Shon Hastings, Chief Judge of the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of North Dakota. That role gave him exposure to corporate Chapter 11 cases, small-business Subchapter V proceedings, and other aspects of bankruptcy practice. He now applies that experience when advising clients facing financial pressure, while also handling corporate planning, financing, and acquisition matters.

Austin A. Eggl combines bankruptcy-court experience with a business-focused transactional practice. He works with clients to understand operational goals, structure corporate arrangements, plan financing, evaluate acquisition opportunities, and address financial distress. His background helps him consider both ordinary-course business planning and the legal options available when financial conditions become difficult, allowing clients to receive coordinated guidance across corporate, M&A, bankruptcy, and workout matters.
