Ashley earned her J.D. from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School and her B.A. in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University. She is admitted to practice in North Carolina. Her education and background support her work reviewing franchise documents, negotiating agreements, and advising business owners. She also served as a law clerk to Justice Cheri Beasley of the North Carolina Supreme Court before entering franchise practice.

Ashley assists prospective franchisees with comprehensive reviews of FDDs and franchise agreements before they commit to new business opportunities. She also helps established franchisees negotiate retail and commercial leases, address employment issues, manage franchise renewals, and sell franchise businesses. Her prior experience representing franchisors helps her identify provisions that may affect franchisee rights, obligations, costs, and long-term flexibility while providing practical guidance tailored to each client’s business objectives and concerns.

Ashley Gengler Nielsen founded her franchise practice after gaining substantial experience representing both sides of franchise relationships. She takes a detailed approach, answering questions and addressing concerns so clients can move forward with confidence.
