Ashley Bickel

Ashley Bickel, Esq., is a highly experienced Delaware family law attorney and the founder of The Bickel Firm in Georgetown, Delaware. She has dedicated her legal career to helping individuals and families navigate complex Family Court matters. With more than two decades of legal experience, she represents clients in a wide range of civil and criminal family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, guardianship, adoption, protection from abuse, termination of parental rights, and juvenile and adult criminal defense matters in Family Court. Her professional approach focuses on providing clear guidance, strong advocacy, and effective legal representation during challenging legal situations.

Ashley earned her B.A. in English and Writing Seminars from The Johns Hopkins University in 2001. She then pursued her legal education at Duke Law School, where she earned her J.D. in 2004. Her academic background provided a strong foundation in communication, legal analysis, and advocacy, which continue to support her work as a family law attorney.

Ashley began her legal career with a two-year clerkship for the Judges of the Family Court in Sussex County, Delaware, following law school. This experience gave her valuable insight into court procedures and family law matters. She later entered private practice, where she focused on family law and education law. During her career, she spent nearly six years representing parents whose children were in the custody of the State of Delaware. This work allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the legal system, community resources, and the challenges families face.

Ashley Bickel expanded her practice to include criminal defense for juveniles and adults in Family Court, as well as Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) litigation over the years. Through her extensive experience, she has helped countless clients protect their rights, resolve family disputes, and work toward positive outcomes.
