About

Armanda Beal Day is a Partner and Attorney at Vafiades, Brountas & Kominsky LLP in Bangor, where she practices family law. Her work includes adoptions, child custody, divorce, parental rights and responsibilities, and post-judgment motions. She joined the firm after two decades in independent practice and later became Managing Partner. Her family-law work focuses on helping clients navigate disputes and legal transitions involving children, parenting, and changing family relationships.

Armanda earned her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Maine in Orono. During law school, she participated in a family law clinic and volunteered with a rape crisis response hotline. Those experiences reinforced her interest in family law and client advocacy and helped shape a career focused on families and children.

Armanda has practiced family law for many years and also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem. Her work involves custody, divorce, adoption, parental-rights issues, and post-judgment proceedings, often requiring detailed attention to family circumstances and the best interests of children. She previously served on a local school board and chaired it for several years, adding community governance experience to her family-law and child-focused work.

Armanda Beal Day chairs the Guardian Ad Litem Review Board, which oversees Guardian Ad Litems across Maine and monitors continuing education and professional conduct requirements. She is affiliated with the Maine State Bar Association and is admitted in federal and tribal courts listed by her firm. Her practice combines family-law experience, leadership, and child-focused advocacy in matters where careful preparation and practical guidance are especially important.
