About
Anthony P. Azemika is a founding partner and family law lawyer in Bakersfield, California. He has devoted more than three decades of practice exclusively to family law. Anthony represents individuals and families in divorce, dissolution of domestic partnerships, child custody and visitation disputes, child and spousal support matters, property division, and domestic violence restraining order proceedings. His work helps clients address the legal, financial, and parenting issues that often arise during family transitions.
Anthony earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, cum laude, from California State University, San Francisco, in 1988. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, in 1991. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1992. This academic and legal training provides a strong foundation for analyzing complicated family law questions, explaining available options, and developing practical strategies suited to each client’s circumstances.
Anthony has handled hundreds of family law cases involving divorce, domestic partnership dissolution, custody, support, property rights, and protective orders. He also serves as an acting arbitrator for the mandatory fee arbitration programs of the Kern County Bar Association and the State Bar of California, helping resolve fee disputes between clients and attorneys. This experience reflects his familiarity with both contested family matters and the professional responsibilities involved in legal practice.
Anthony P. Azemika has served the Kern County legal community as a former vice president and board member of the Kern County Bar Association. The National Advocates selected him as one of its Top 100 Lawyers in 2016. His community involvement has included service with Bakersfield Rotary organizations, and The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International has awarded him multiple Paul Harris Fellowships. He brings extensive family law experience, professional leadership, and practical judgment to clients facing important personal decisions.
