About
Anne Hamer is a Tennessee family law lawyer with Anne Hamer Law, practicing in Memphis and Nashville. For more than two decades, she has represented clients in complex divorce and family law litigation. Her practice focuses on divorce, high-asset divorce, child custody, child support, and mediation. She represents business owners, executives, physicians, entrepreneurs, professionals, and parents facing significant financial or custody disputes.
Anne earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She later received her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Her education was followed by experience in commercial litigation, which provided a foundation for handling divorce cases involving complicated business interests, assets, investments, and other financial concerns.
Anne practiced commercial litigation with Bass, Berry & Sims in Nashville and Wolff Ardis, P.C. in Memphis before concentrating on family law. Her earlier business and finance experience included work with Corrections Corporation of America and Shearson Lehman. She draws on this background when handling divorces involving business valuations, executive compensation, investment portfolios, professional practices, real estate, and asset tracing. She is also a Rule 31 trained civil and family law mediator.
Anne Hamer has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for her family law work. She has lectured nationally on family law topics, including presentations connected with the American Bar Association Family Law Section. She is a past chair of the Memphis Bar Association’s Family Law Committee and has participated in several professional organizations.
