About
Andrew Marchev is Of Counsel at Main Street Law LLP in Montpelier, Vermont. He represents family farms, working lands enterprises, community land trusts, and food entrepreneurs. His practice includes business formation and succession, farm succession, land use, land conservation, wills, probate, landlord-tenant issues, and general civil litigation. He joined the firm in 2024 after operating a solo practice under the name Three Rivers Law.
Marchev earned a JD from Vermont Law School and a BA from Warren Wilson College. During law school, he interned with the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, researching regulations affecting forested land on conserved farms. He has also taught Food and Agricultural Law at Vermont Law and Graduate School. His academic and teaching background supports legal work that connects business needs with agricultural and land-related requirements.
Marchev’s experience includes work with the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems and the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board. He also practiced at Phillips Dunn Shriver & Carroll before establishing his own agricultural law practice. His work has included farm lease negotiations, business transitions to the next generation, estate planning, probate administration, and entity formation. These matters link the continuity of a business with the management of its land and assets.
Andrew Marchev serves on the boards of Food Connects and Vermont Organic Farmers. His experience running a small practice provides an additional business perspective when counseling entrepreneurs and working lands enterprises. His work considers how legal arrangements affect both current operations and future ownership. By addressing succession, land use, and business structure together, he helps clients plan around the connected responsibilities involved in sustaining a farm or food-related enterprise.
