Andrew B. Wachler

Andrew B. Wachler is a Michigan healthcare attorney with more than 40 years of experience counseling healthcare providers and organizations nationwide. His work centers on healthcare legal matters, and his published articles and national presentations address Medicare appeals, Stark Law, fraud and abuse, and HIPAA. Based in Royal Oak, Michigan, he serves a national healthcare client base while also contributing to professional discussions about payment, reimbursement, healthcare policy, and regulatory issues through legal association leadership.

Andrew earned a Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating cum laude. He also received the William J. Branstrom Award during his undergraduate studies. He then earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, again graduating cum laude. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Andrew serves on the editorial board of The Health Lawyer, the American Bar Association Health Law Section publication, with a focus on its Fraud and Abuse Section. His leadership experience includes serving as vice chair of the Payment and Reimbursement Interest Group and the Healthcare Policy Task Force within the ABA Health Law Section. He also serves as vice chair of the ABA Health Law Section Health Law and Policy Coordinating Committee. These positions complement his national writing and speaking engagements on healthcare law for professional organizations and other entities.

Andrew B. Wachler has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers, U.S. News Best Lawyers in America, and DBusiness Magazine’s Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit. In 2017, he was honored as a Fellow of the Michigan Bar Association Health Care Law Section.
