About

Amy B. Rifkind is a partner in Washington, D.C. and co-chair of Arnold & Porter’s Real Estate practice. She helps clients review, structure, and close complex commercial real estate deals. Her work focuses on real estate development and public-private partnerships at the federal and local levels.

Amy earned her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1993. She also earned her B.A. from Yale University in 1989, graduating summa cum laude. Her education helped build the strong legal foundation she uses to advise clients on major real estate projects and transactions.

Amy represents owners, operators, and developers of real estate in the Washington, D.C. region and across the United States. Her practice includes purchases, dispositions, leases, ground leases, financings, and build-to-suit transactions for many asset classes, including office, mixed-use, multifamily, and data center properties.

Amy also handles transactions for pro bono clients. Her pro bono work includes matters for several District of Columbia charter schools and nonprofit organizations. She brings the same careful review, clear advice, and practical deal experience to these clients that she provides in her broader real estate practice.

Amy has been ranked by Chambers & Partners as one of America’s leading real estate lawyers since 2010. She has also been recognized by Connect CRE, Lexology Index, The Legal 500 U.S., Chambers USA, and Washingtonian Magazine for her work in real estate and real estate finance.
