About
Amelia J. Leonard is an associate at Seeley, Savidge, Ebert & Gourash whose practice concentrates on consumer construction law, contract litigation, employment disputes, and Ohio public records and open meetings law. Her work includes claims involving the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act and Home Solicitation Sales Act. Amelia also advises clients on business transactions and legal questions, representing people and organizations dealing with contested commercial relationships and public-sector obligations.
Amelia earned a B.A. from Western Kentucky University in 1992 and a J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2011. She completed law school through its part-time evening program while working full time as a law clerk. During law school, she also interned for a Kentucky appellate judge. Her education and early professional experience connect formal legal training with hands-on work on litigation and appellate processes.
Amelia has handled consumer construction disputes, breach of contract matters, non-compete agreements, and employment-related claims. Her experience also includes drafting municipal legislation, defending product and premises liability actions, addressing insurance claims, and handling OVI, minor criminal, and traffic matters. She has occasionally served as an acting prosecutor for the City of Huron. Her practice requires flexibility across private commercial disputes, public law issues, and courtroom representation.
Amelia J. Leonard also contributes to legal education as an adviser to the Lakewood High School Mock Trial Team, a role she has held since 2019. She has served as a volunteer judge in mock trial competitions at middle school and law school levels. Her combination of litigation, municipal work, and legal education activities reflects a practice that draws on practical courtroom experience and careful attention to how legal rules affect clients.
