About
Amble Johnson is counsel at Evans Bowers in Atlanta and practices environmental law, defamation, childhood sexual abuse matters, and other civil litigation. His environmental work is supported by experience with regulatory issues, toxic torts, and enforcement matters. He previously served with the Southern Environmental Law Center and brings litigation and appellate experience to cases involving complex environmental questions, disputed facts, and legal issues requiring careful research and written advocacy.
Amble earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served on the Georgia Law Review executive board and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He also earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia in Comparative Literature and Mass Media Studies, graduating cum laude. His academic work provides a strong foundation for environmental analysis, legal writing, and appellate advocacy.
Amble served as a judicial law clerk to US District Judge Marc T. Treadwell in the Middle District of Georgia and later worked as an associate attorney with the Southern Environmental Law Center in Birmingham. He is admitted in Georgia and Alabama and before federal district and appellate courts. His professional experience spans environmental disputes, civil litigation, court proceedings, legal research, and strategic advocacy across state and federal forums.
Amble Johnson contributes to environmental law education and professional discussion in addition to representing clients. He has co-taught an Introduction to Environmental Law course at the University of Georgia and has spoken on PFAS and PFOS issues. His background in judicial chambers, public-interest environmental practice, and private litigation supports a practical approach to environmental and civil disputes requiring close attention to regulatory frameworks, evidence, and appellate considerations.
