About
Allison Mizuo Lee is a partner at Cades Schutte and the founding and resident partner of the firm’s Līhuʻe office. Her practice includes commercial and real-estate litigation, foreclosure, probate and trust litigation, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, insurance coverage and defense, intellectual-property lawsuits and disputes, and alternative dispute resolution. She has built a litigation practice serving clients on Kauai and throughout Hawaii.
Lee earned a B.A. in Economics-Government from Claremont McKenna College in 1997, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 2001, also summa cum laude, and graduated as valedictorian. She later clerked for U.S. District Judge Alan C. Kay. This background supports her ability to analyze legal and factual issues carefully, communicate options clearly, and approach client matters with practical judgment.
Lee has experience that includes disputes over contract rights, fraud and real-property transfers, LLC and franchisor relationships, co-owner and property issues, lender defense, foreclosure, trust-beneficiary claims, insurance coverage, and patent, copyright, and trademark matters. The range of work reflects substantial experience with both business and property-centered litigation. Across these matters, she focuses on understanding the record, identifying the legal issues that matter most, and helping clients move through the relevant legal process with a clear strategy.
Allison Mizuo Lee has received professional recognition for her legal and business leadership and continues to lead Cades Schutte’s presence on Kauai. Her academic record, federal clerkship, and broad litigation experience support work on complex disputes involving businesses, lenders, property owners, fiduciaries, insurers, and intellectual-property rights. The practice reflects a practical approach to legal service, with attention to the facts, applicable law, and the decisions clients must make as a matter progresses.
