About
Allison Chopra is a criminal defense attorney based in Bloomington, Indiana, and the founder of Chopra Criminal Defense. A proud Army veteran, she began her military service at 17 and built her career around protecting others. She represents individuals accused of crimes throughout Indiana.
Allison earned her BA, Indiana University, 2005, followed by her MS, Indiana University, 2007. She later received her JD, Indiana University Maurer School of Law, 2018. Her education and training provide a strong academic foundation for her criminal defense practice.
Before opening her firm, Allison served as a Prosecuting Attorney and later as an appointed Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Indiana. In those roles, she developed a clear understanding of how prosecutors evaluate cases and negotiate resolutions. This experience allows her to anticipate strategies and build informed, focused defenses for her clients.
Allison also previously operated her own business as a personal trainer, gaining firsthand experience in leadership and client service. Today, she leads an exclusively virtual criminal defense practice designed to provide efficient and innovative representation to clients facing serious charges.
Allison Chopra is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Monroe County Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Through Chopra Criminal Defense, she works to ensure that every client feels informed, heard, and supported while navigating the criminal justice system in Indiana.
