About
Alexis L. Silsbe is of counsel with Jackson Lewis in St. Louis and advises employers on workplace law. Her practice combines employment counseling with litigation in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. Alexis defends single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and class matters and helps employers address discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, disability, and leave issues. She works with organizations seeking practical guidance that aligns workplace decisions with legal requirements and business goals.
Alexis earned a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2011 and a B.D. from Grand Valley State University in 2007. During law school, she served as a Notes and Comments Editor and worked as a teaching assistant in Contracts. Her academic experience strengthened research, writing, and analytical skills that support employment litigation and counseling, particularly when workplace matters require detailed statutory analysis, careful briefing, and clear explanations of legal obligations to organizational decision-makers.
Alexis represents employers before courts and agencies including the Missouri Commission on Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She advises on the Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, disciplinary decisions, policies, and anti-discrimination or anti-harassment training. Before joining private practice, she served as an Associate City Counselor for St. Louis and led the Law Department’s Labor and Employment Section, handling significant public-sector workplace litigation.
Alexis L. Silsbe brings private-practice employment experience and prior municipal leadership to workplace disputes and compliance matters. Her public-sector work included litigation under Section 1983, Title VII, the Missouri Human Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Alexis uses that background to help employers evaluate claims, strengthen policies, train personnel, respond to agency charges, and defend litigation involving employment decisions and civil rights issues.
