About
Alex Hunter is a litigation associate at Dinse in Burlington, Vermont. Alex works with the firm’s Civil Litigation group on contract and property disputes, higher education matters, insurance coverage, personal injury, and employment issues. The practice emphasizes research and analysis to identify legal strategies that address each client’s concerns and support the litigation team’s preparation of a matter.
Alex earned a J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2021 and a B.F.A. from New York University in 2015. During law school, Alex belonged to the Cardozo Moot Court Honor Society. Participation in appellate advocacy exercises provided experience organizing legal arguments, assessing difficult questions, and communicating the reasoning behind a position in writing and oral presentations.
Alex’s background includes work as a Staff Attorney with the New York Legal Assistance Group, representing individuals and families facing eviction. As a law student, Alex researched and argued legal issues with the Defender General’s Prisoners’ Rights Office, the ACLU of Vermont, the Cardozo Civil Rights Clinic, and the New York City Legal Aid Society. These experiences involved both individual representation and civil rights advocacy.
Alex Hunter is admitted in New York and Vermont and belongs to the Vermont and Chittenden County Bar Associations. Alex was a semifinalist and Best Brief Winner at Emory’s 2020 Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. That advocacy background accompanies an approach focused on professionalism, efficient analysis, and creative problem solving when helping clients understand and address the issues involved in civil disputes.
