Alan K. Lenczycki

Alan K. Lenczycki, Esq., is a seasoned criminal defense and family law attorney serving clients throughout Lake County and McHenry County, Illinois. He brings extensive courtroom experience and a strong understanding of the justice system to every case at AKL Legal, LLC. As a former Assistant State’s Attorney in Lake County, he handled a wide range of criminal matters, including domestic violence, DUI, traffic offenses, and gang-related prosecutions. His background allows him to anticipate legal strategies and build strong, results-focused defenses for individuals facing serious legal challenges.

Alan earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. His legal education provided a solid foundation in advocacy, legal analysis, and courtroom procedure. This academic training, combined with years of hands-on litigation experience, enables him to approach cases with clarity, preparation, and confidence while keeping legal explanations easy for clients to understand.

Alan served as Senior Assistant State’s Attorney in Lake County’s dedicated domestic violence courtroom, where he managed complex cases and worked to protect vulnerable individuals through orders of protection and no-contact orders during his prosecutorial career. He also prosecuted instances as part of the Gang Task Force and participated in law enforcement legal training. Over the course of his career, he has litigated more than 100 trials and represented clients in hundreds of traffic and DUI cases.

Alan K. Lenczycki applies his litigation skills to protect his clients’ rights and interests in divorce, child custody, and related family law matters. As a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem in Lake County, he advocates for children by providing the court with informed, unbiased recommendations.
