Alan J. Belsky

Alan J. Belsky is an accomplished trial lawyer and the Managing Partner of Belsky & Horowitz, LLC. He has built a respected legal career representing individuals and families in complex legal matters involving personal injury, medical malpractice, bankruptcy law, and appeals. With decades of experience in Maryland and federal courts, he has earned recognition for his strong advocacy, legal knowledge, and commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for his clients. Throughout his career, he has handled significant cases at both the trial and appellate levels, helping clients navigate difficult legal challenges and pursue fair results.

Mr. Belsky earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1991. During law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Baltimore Law Review (Volume 19), demonstrating exceptional leadership and academic ability. He received the American Jurisprudence Award for outstanding achievement in legal analysis, research, and writing, as well as the Hoffberger Award for the best writing in professional responsibility. He also attended the University of Baltimore, where he completed his undergraduate studies before pursuing his legal education.

Mr. Belsky has contributed to the legal profession through publishing, teaching, and leadership. His scholarly article, Injury as a Matter of Law: Is This the Answer to the Wrongful Life Dilemma, gained attention for its innovative approach to genetic counseling malpractice and has been cited by legal publications across the country. He has also lectured on litigation and bankruptcy topics, sharing his knowledge with fellow attorneys and legal professionals.

Alan J. Belsky has worked to improve access to justice through pro bono service and professional leadership beyond representing clients. He helped establish the Maryland State Bar Association’s consumer bankruptcy section, which continues to support bankruptcy practitioners throughout the state. His dedication to clients, legal education, and community service has earned him numerous honors, including Super Lawyers recognition, AV Preeminent ratings, and membership in prestigious trial lawyer organizations.
