Alaina L. Storie

Alaina L. Storie, Esquire, is a dedicated family law attorney at Storie Family Law, LLC, based in Ellicott City, Maryland, serving Howard, Baltimore, and surrounding counties. Since 2007, she has focused on helping clients navigate complex family law issues, including divorce, child custody, and financial disputes. At her practice, Alaina understands the emotional and financial challenges these matters bring and works tirelessly to guide her clients toward their goals through both litigation and settlement negotiations. Her commitment to client advocacy ensures that each case receives personalized attention and expert legal support.

Alaina earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park. During law school, she gained valuable experience as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Michael J. Finifter in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County and as a Rule 16 Student Attorney with the University of Baltimore’s Family Law Clinic. She has completed extensive specialized training, including Child Counsel Training for Best Interest, Child Advocate, and Child Privilege Attorneys. They also include Collaborative Practice Training through the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals; 40-Hour Civil Mediation Training; 20-Hour Parenting and Child Access Issues Mediation Training; and 20-Hour Divorce Mediation Training on Property and Financial Issues.

Alaina has co-authored the custody chapter update for the widely recognized publication Maryland Divorce and Separation Law, Tenth Edition. Super Lawyers Magazine recognized her as a Super Lawyer in 2022 and 2023 and as a Rising Star from 2014 through 2021. She also received The Daily Record’s 2020 VIP List – Very Important Professionals Successful by 40 Award.

Alaina L. Storie actively serves as an At-Large Member of the Executive Council of the Baltimore County Bar Association and contributes to multiple committees, as well as the Family & Juvenile Law Section Council of the Maryland State Bar Association. She combines extensive legal knowledge, mediation skills, and collaborative practice expertise to provide her clients with exceptional guidance in all family law matters.
