About
Addie Wyatt is an associate in Burr & Forman’s Birmingham office whose practice focuses on Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy. Wyatt advises clients on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and lending matters, including Chapter 11 planning, proceedings, and post-emergence issues. She represents debtors and creditors in federal and state matters and handles creditors’ rights litigation, workouts, contract disputes, and related issues that arise when businesses, lenders, and other parties face financial distress.
Wyatt earned a J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Mississippi. Before entering private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk to Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jason D. Woodard of the Northern District of Mississippi. That clerkship provided direct experience with bankruptcy procedure, contested matters, court filings, and the practical considerations that shape restructuring and creditor-debtor disputes.
Wyatt’s work includes Chapter 11 cases, creditor remedies, lending disputes, workouts, and contract claims. She helps clients evaluate options before a bankruptcy filing, respond when a debtor enters bankruptcy, and address issues that continue after a plan or restructuring process. These matters can involve loan documents, collateral, priority questions, claims, negotiations, litigation, and court approval, requiring attention to both the commercial relationship and the procedural requirements of bankruptcy law.
Addie Wyatt has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law and for Litigation – Bankruptcy, along with other emerging-lawyer recognition. Her judicial-clerkship background and current restructuring practice support practical advice in financially sensitive matters. She helps clients assess rights, negotiate solutions, protect claims, and navigate bankruptcy or workout proceedings while keeping the commercial consequences of each decision in view.
