About
Adam R. Carlisle is an associate in the New Orleans office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and a member of the firm’s ERISA Complex Litigation group. His practice focuses on defending employers, fiduciaries, plan sponsors, and other defendants in complex ERISA class actions and individual claims. He further provides preventive advice and counseling to employers on ERISA and workplace law matters involving benefit plans and related responsibilities.
Adam earned a J.D. magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and a B.A. from Louisiana State University. In law school, he participated in the Loyola Law Review, Moot Court, and the Willem C. Vis International Moot Court Team. His academic and advocacy training supports work requiring statutory analysis, complex briefing, persuasive writing, and clear communication about employee benefit disputes.
Adam has experience with 401(k) and 403(b) fee claims, benefit claims, ESOP disputes, ERISA Section 510 claims, and allegations involving breaches of fiduciary duty. Before law school, he worked as a high school history teacher and an NCAA Division I track and field coach. He now uses that communication background when explaining complicated ERISA issues, preparing defenses, and advising employers on preventive compliance concerns.
Adam R. Carlisle is admitted in Louisiana and several federal trial and appellate courts. Jackson Lewis lists him among Best Lawyers in America Ones to Watch for Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law beginning with the 2025 edition. His practice combines litigation defense with preventive counseling, helping employers and plan-related defendants respond to claims, understand fiduciary obligations, and manage legal risk connected to employee benefit programs.
