Adam P. Hertzke

Adam P. Hertzke is a partner with Faegre Drinker and leader of the firm’s Des Moines office. Hertzke advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, general corporate matters, finance and restructuring, public-company issues, corporate restructuring, and finance and bankruptcy litigation. His clients operate in industries including food and beverage, renewable energy, manufacturing, financial services, insurance, and technology, and his transactional work ranges from smaller deals to billion-dollar matters.

Hertzke earned a B.S. from Iowa State University in 2004 with distinction, an M.B.A. from Iowa State University in 2006, and a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2009 with distinction. He served on the Journal of Corporation Law. His combined business and legal education supports work involving deal structure, financing, governance, risk allocation, and negotiation, where understanding both commercial objectives and legal documentation is central to completing a transaction.

Hertzke represents buyers and sellers in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and other strategic transactions. Representative experience includes major branded-food and insurance transactions as well as work for companies in manufacturing, energy, finance, and technology. He also provides ongoing corporate counseling and governance advice, helping boards and management teams evaluate legal requirements, structure agreements, and manage issues that arise before, during, and after a transaction or restructuring.
