Abby C. Crabtree

Abby C. Crabtree is an associate attorney with Dickinson, Bradshaw, Fowler & Hagen, P.C. in Des Moines. Crabtree’s practice focuses largely on general litigation and also includes environmental law, land use law and litigation, administrative law, estate planning, and probate law. She joined the firm in September 2026 after working there as a summer associate in 2025 and is developing a practice that combines courtroom work with regulatory and planning matters.

Crabtree earned a B.A. in Ethics and Public Policy from the University of Iowa, with a certificate in Sustainability, and received her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2026. During law school, she served as President of Graduate and Professional Student Government and as a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Corporation Law. Her academic work and leadership experience support legal writing, research, and analysis across environmental and civil matters.

Crabtree gained additional legal experience as a judicial intern for Judge Donovan Frank of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and previously worked as a legal assistant in Iowa City. She also participated in environmental law activities and volunteer legal service. In practice, her interests in environmental regulation, land use, and agriculture complement general litigation, while estate planning and probate work adds experience with documents and court procedures outside traditional civil disputes.
