Abbi S. Taylor

Abbi S. Taylor has devoted more than three decades to criminal defense, mediation, and judicial service. As a full-time attorney, part-time judge, and certified mediator, she brings a rare, multidimensional perspective to every case, combining courtroom advocacy with deep institutional insight into how criminal matters are evaluated and resolved.

Abbi earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at New College of Florida. Her academic achievements include graduating in the top ten percent, Order of the Coif honors, and extensive leadership in law review and moot court programs.

Abbi focuses her legal practice on criminal defense, parole advocacy, and post-conviction relief. She chose this focus after recognizing how voiceless individuals often are within the system. Through strategic advocacy, she has helped hundreds of clients return home, improve incarceration placements, and reclaim meaningful opportunities beyond confinement.

Abbi’s service as an Associate Magistrate Judge since 1997 strengthens her effectiveness as an attorney. Presiding over civil and criminal calendars has provided firsthand knowledge of prosecutorial priorities, judicial expectations, and procedural decision-making. This dual role allows her to anticipate challenges, evaluate risk, and position cases for favorable outcomes.

As a mediator and arbitrator, Abbi also assists parties in resolving disputes outside the courtroom. This experience reinforces her ability to negotiate practical solutions, reduce conflict, and guide clients toward resolution when litigation may not serve their best interests, particularly in emotionally charged or complex criminal and quasi-criminal matters.
