Aaron W. Nicholson

Aaron W. Nicholson is a partner in Crowley Fleck’s Billings office and a member of the Commercial and Natural Resources Litigation and Commercial Transactions Practice Groups. He practices across commercial litigation and helps clients navigate disputes, start lawsuits, and solve complex business problems. Nicholson represents small businesses and companies in shareholder disputes, construction matters, contract issues, and other commercial conflicts, while also handling real estate, trust and estate, and intellectual property matters.

Nicholson earned a J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2013, graduating magna cum laude with Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers recognition. He earned a B.A. in History from Montana State University in 2009, cum laude, and an A.A. in History from Northwest Community College in 2008, cum laude. His academic record provides a strong foundation for research, writing, appellate analysis, and litigation strategy.

Nicholson has represented clients in shareholder and business disputes, construction law, contract matters, homeowner real estate disputes, trust and estate contests, and intellectual property litigation. He also files trademarks for clients. During law school, he clerked for District Court Judge Jouel Medd, completed an externship with the United States Attorney’s Office, and clerked for Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle of the North Dakota Supreme Court, gaining experience with trial and appellate courts.

Aaron W. Nicholson has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation and Construction Law since 2022. He is admitted in North Dakota and Montana and in federal courts that include the Districts of North Dakota and Montana and the Ninth Circuit.
