The Winter Law Firm PC

The Winter Law Firm PC was a Riverton, Wyoming law firm focused on estate planning, elder law, asset protection, Medicaid planning, probate, and trust administration. The firm served families, individuals, farmers, ranchers, and business owners throughout central Wyoming. Its work included wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, long-term care planning, and strategies designed to preserve assets while helping clients prepare for future financial, healthcare, and family needs.

The Winter Law Firm PC was led by William T. “Bill” Winter, who earned his undergraduate degree and J.D. from the University of Wyoming. Winter began practicing law in 1987 and spent nearly eight years prosecuting felony criminal cases in Phoenix, Arizona, before returning to private practice. He later concentrated his work on estate planning, Medicaid planning, elder law, business succession, and protecting family assets from the financial effects of long-term care.

The Winter Law Firm PC helped clients establish trusts, administer estates, structure business interests, and plan for the transfer of farms and ranches to future generations. The practice also assisted families with Medicaid eligibility and spend-down strategies, probate and trust administration, powers of attorney, and business succession planning. Winter’s work included educational programs and presentations on estate planning, including participation in Wyoming PBS’s televised “Leave a Legacy” estate planning series.

The Winter Law Firm PC built more than 25 years of estate planning service in Riverton and Fremont County before being acquired by Wyoming Trust Attorneys in 2025. The successor firm continues the practice from the Riverton office, including estate planning, asset protection, Medicaid planning, probate, trusts, and farm and ranch succession. The firm’s legacy reflects a long-term focus on helping Wyoming families protect property, organize their affairs, and prepare for the transfer of wealth and businesses.
