Lindsay S. Arevalo

Lindsay S. Arevalo is an associate attorney based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, serving clients throughout the Pine Belt region. She provides dedicated legal representation in criminal defense, youth court matters, and family law, focusing on helping clients through difficult and often life-changing situations.

Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis on pre-law from Mississippi State University in 2011. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2014 and became licensed to practice law in Mississippi the same year.

Lindsay began her legal career by opening her own practice in Hattiesburg, where she focused on family law and child advocacy. She later joined the Forrest County Public Defender’s Office, representing indigent clients charged with felonies and handling hearings, motions, and jury trials.

Lindsay trained for three years with Gideon’s Promise, a national organization focused on client-centered defense. She remains active in the program by mentoring new attorneys and supporting efforts to improve the criminal justice system through education and reform.

In 2019, Lindsay became Forrest County’s first full-time youth court defender. She represented parents seeking to regain custody and teenagers accused of crimes. She also served as Guardian ad Litem and worked with the youth drug court program, focusing on the well-being of children.

Lindsay joined Tangi Carter & Associates, P.A. in January 2023. Her practice includes misdemeanors, felonies, CPS and DYS youth court matters, and some family law cases. She is certified as a Guardian ad Litem and youth defender and holds certification in Mental Health First Aid.

Lindsay S. Arevalo remains committed to her community through her legal work and volunteer efforts. She enjoys boating and fishing with her husband and stays active in local organizations, continuing to support and serve the people of Hattiesburg.
