David T. McDowell is a founding partner of his firm’s Houston office and a seasoned trial attorney with more than 25 years of litigation experience. He serves clients across the country in high-stakes commercial, energy, and financial services litigation, having acted as lead counsel in cases spanning nearly every state. He has also handled complex class actions, RICO claims, antitrust disputes, arbitrations, and appellate matters.

David earned his Juris Doctor with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1994 and completed his B.B.A. cum laude from Texas A&M University in 1988. His strong academic background supports his deep understanding of both legal and business principles.

Throughout his career, David has tried cases in Texas, Florida, California, and Minnesota. He has argued before multiple federal appellate courts, including the Second, Fifth, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuits. His experience also extends to state appellate courts across Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Texas. He frequently assists clients with regulatory and lobbying initiatives before state legislatures and governors’ offices in key jurisdictions like California, Florida, and Delaware.
