David Perry, II, Esq. is a registered patent attorney at The Ticktin Law Group, where he focuses on intellectual property law and innovation protection. With a foundation in science and technology, he assists inventors, entrepreneurs, and companies in securing and enforcing patents and trademarks. His practice combines legal precision and scientific understanding to help clients navigate complex IP matters and transform groundbreaking ideas into protected intellectual assets.
Mr. Perry earned his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, a national leader in intellectual property education. He also holds an M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Central Florida and a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Rollins College. His multidisciplinary training in both law and science enables him to understand intricate technical concepts and apply them effectively within patent law.
Before entering the legal field, Mr. Perry conducted extensive biomedical research on next-generation antimalarial drugs derived from natural products. His research explored drug mechanisms against Plasmodium, the parasite responsible for malaria, utilizing comparative genomics, cytotoxicity screening, and confocal microscopy. His findings were published in leading scientific journals, including ACS Infectious Diseases and Molecules. This scientific work deepened his passion for advancing innovation and shaped his transition to intellectual property law.
During law school, David Perry, II, was recognized as an Atlantic Regional Champion in the USPTO’s National Patent Drafting Competition. Today, he is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Florida Bar. Dedicated to helping creators protect and commercialize their inventions, he continues to promote innovation through thoughtful legal strategy, technical insight, and a commitment to client success.
